This post gives a valuable discussing about the conceptual arts. What’s conceptual art? The name itself has the meaning. An art with some concepts or ideas are said to be conceptual arts. When these conceptual arts arose? I think it was Marcel Duchamp, a French artist, is the father of conceptual arts. These conceptual arts had a slow start as it was not accepted earlier in the previous century. In late 1960s these conceptual arts grew strong and today there are lots of artists who were interested in doing these kinds of arts. It also arose some controversies in UK. They said that it is just contemporary art rather than using concepts. There is something more special to say about this type of art. I like drawing these kinds of arts because it will create innovation. New concepts and techniques, if it’s good, will always be liked by people. They are gaining popularity slowly and I’m sure one day they will be in hearts of every artist. Some of the arts like installation art, performance art and much more are said to be contemporary arts. But sources tell that they should belong to the category of conceptual art. Let’s continue it in future and please stay tuned for more information.

This topic is mainly based on plastic arts. What’s plastic art? We can say plastic art as visual art. Some physical objects like clay, plaster, paint are used to mould the materials to give a three dimensional view. Some of plastic arts are architecture, ceramics, collage, conceptual art, drawing, glass art, land art, metal working, mosaic, painting, paper art, print marking, sculpture, textile art, welding, wood working, film and film photography. Let me explain them in detail. Architecture is what we discussed in one of our previous posts. Ceramic art is done with the help of inorganic materials like ceramics. Collage is type of mixing some paints to give a different visual. Conceptual art is designed with some concepts. Glass art is done with the medium, glass. Metal working is what we all know. Making ornaments with some arts is right example for metal working. There are lots of things coming under metal working and we will be discussing in detail further. Mosaic is the art done with small pieces of glass. It comes under the category of decorative art. Printing the art in a paper is said to be print working. What we discussed are just basics and we will be studying about it in detail further.

Painting is one of the techniques used as architectural design of arts. It uses paint, pigment and color for making good painting. It is described as act and result in terms of art. We can keep these paintings anywhere like walls, roofs, floors, ceilings and so on. A naturalistic look gives painting a good name. Similarly it should representational. Most of the earlier paintings are based on spirituals and later part they used women in their beautiful paintings. We can also give some of the examples for these. The spiritual painting has been seen in the book of Bible. Also there are different types of painting like Eastern painting, western painting, Indian painting and Chinese painting. Painting is enabled by the representation and understanding of intensity. Let me take one example like space. We can show the different intensity by black and white shades. The remaining gap is filled with grey or light black shades. This is how painting is done. Painting differs from the geometrical figure basically with the above discussed points. These are the basic concepts and it’s in the hands of the painter to show the reality in it. There are lots to discuss about paintings and wait for my future posts where we will be discussing a lot about it.

The next art we will be discussing is performing art. It is similar to that of plastic art, because it also uses the physical objects like clay, metal and paint for giving three dimensions. In addition to that it uses artist’s won body, face and some other things. We can categorize these performing arts in to two categories. One western art and other one is eastern art. The types of performing art are music, theatre and dance. Let’s see them one by one. Music is the expression of person’s internal feelings. There are two main things concerned here. One is music performance and music education. Music performance is what done by music composers in films, dramas and much more. Music education is the study of instruments and practicing it. Theatre is the place where art can be performed. Here acting is done before the audience. Those who perform the acting are said to be actors. The third category of performing art is dance. Dance is the physical movement of a person which should be good to watch. This physical movement is done to show the expression of the message told in the song playing background. Each of the above topics is discussed in detail in next post.

This is my first post on artsmineur. You all will be wondering what does “artsmineur” mean. It is a French word for arts minor. Now you will be having a doubt about arts minor. Generally arts are the works done by hand like painting, carving, etc. Arts are further classified as fine arts and minor arts. All those arts other than architecture, painting, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking are referred as minor arts. Some examples of minor arts would be enamel ware, lacquer ware, jade, ivory, textiles, and many other arts of these sorts. I do some minor arts when I am free. It’s my hobby. Blogging about something you like is really exciting and interesting. For me, this blog creates more interest in minor arts. I would post every new thing I do during my leisure. In my school I have had some classes on minor arts. We usually have these classes on Fridays. On every Friday we need to do something with the waste materials. There would be 60 (the strength of our class) new innovations and creative arts on every Friday. At the end of the session my staff would come and provide the marks for the craft items we made.
